Agile Transformation

From doing Agile to being agile

Accelerate Your Agile Transformation!

The Competence Center offers a unique mix of exchange, collaboration, academic expertise and advisory services and supports your agile transformation in three ways:

  1. We provide a one-of-a-kind platform for exchange and collaboration in a protected environment.
  2. We support projects with our academic expertise and translate insights into practical and sustainable solutions.
  3. We provide a transparent and objective view of the current status of your agile transformation and the value contribution of agility in your organization.

Competence Center

Vision

The Competence Center Agile Transformation wants to be one of the leading “think tanks” for agile transformation in the DACH region. In addition to a unique platform for exchange and collaboration, it offers its partners access to scientific insights and academic advisory services. Our goal is to support our partners on their way towards a customer-oriented and agile organization that not only works agile, but also thinks, leads and acts agile.

Approach

“The whole is more than the sum of its parts” – Aristotle’s famous saying is the core principle of our competence center. While all organizations undergo their own transformation journey, the competence center enables and leverages vicarious learning, that is the learning from (mistakes from) others. On top of that, organizations profit from the academic research and advisory services offered in the competence center that additionally leverages the own input.

Value Proposition

We are not promising an out-of-the-box solution on how to master the agile transformation – because we simply believe there is none. We strongly believe that the agile transformation journey is unique for every organization. Thus, we act as a sparring partner, providing inputs and giving our scientifically sound opinion to selected issues. Together with our unique platform for exchange and collaboration and our research team, we accelerate your agile transformation.

The launch event of the Competence Center Agile Transformation will take place on Friday, December 7, 2018

After an eventful summer, including the pre-launch event in June and many more interesting talks with agile transformation experts, the Competence Center Agile Transformation will kick off on Friday, December 7, 2018. The event will take place at the Executive Campus (WBZ Holzweid) of the University of St.Gallen.

The main focus of the workshop will be the setting of a (research) agenda for the next year. In addition, we already want to undertake a first working session towards agile KPIs and an agile benchmark. On top of that, we are looking forward to welcoming four CEOs from startups and SMEs, that already took the bold step towards a more egalitarian and agile organization for a roundtable discussion.

We are excited to welcome our partners (Credit Suisse, Helsana, Zurich Insurance) as well as other selected guests and are looking forward to an exciting and insightful day!

Prof. Leimeister as guest expert at the German Government’s “Zukunftsgespräch” in Meseberg

On 3 September 2018, the German Federal Government’s “Zukunftsgespräch” on new forms of employment in the age of digitization took place in the baroque Meseberg Castle near Berlin. Also present: Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister, Director at the Insitute of Information Management of the University of St.Gallen. Jan Marco Leimeister, a crowdsourcing expert recognized throughout Germany, was invited to give a keynote speech and to be available for discussion with the members of the Federal Cabinet including chancellor Angela Merkel.

“Crowd mechanisms are increasingly being incorporated into external and internal business processes and play an important role in the design of new forms of digital work,” says Leimeister. In order not to fall behind leading economies such as the USA in this area, it is necessary to deal with the design of this new form of work organization at an early stage. At the same time, possible risks for society and social systems must be effectively countered in time. “I am very pleased to have made my small contribution to this success by advising the German Government and the social partners at the “Zukunftsgespräche” in Meseberg.
